Ultrapharm creates gluten-free bakery products at sites in Poland and Pontypool, South Wales, supplying the UK retail trade and other markets across Europe. It was established in 1993, supplying a small range of products for coeliacs in the UK, including, for the first time, fresh gluten-free bread, which had previously been available only as a canned product.
The Polish site was established in 2005 to add long-shelf-life and frozen bread to its ‘Free From’ range. The company opened its new UK bakery in Pontypool in 2008. In 2018, Finsbury Food Group acquired Ultrapharm to support its strategy to further diversify its product capability into high-growth areas.
With a product line constantly changing with additions to the range, Ultrapharm produces well-loved and consistently high-quality products. As a specialist Free From bakery, its extensive product range includes bread, buns, rolls and other morning goods.
