Shift: Night Shift 18:00PM – 06:00AM following a 4 on 4 off rotation

We have an exciting opportunity for a Despatch Operative to join our team at Fletcher’s Bakery, working a four on, four off rolling shift pattern.
Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen (get it?) to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a but a few.
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where you’ll play a key part in ensuring finished products are received, stored, and despatched accurately and efficiently. Working as part of a close-knit team, you’ll help maintain high standards of safety, quality, and hygiene while supporting the smooth running of the despatch operation.

This is what you’ll actually do!
As a Despatch Operative, you’ll support the day-to-day movement of finished goods through the warehouse, helping the team manage high volumes of stock and ensure customer orders are assembled and dispatched correctly.
You’ll receive and handle stock, assemble orders, and load vehicles following the correct loading procedures. You’ll help maintain accurate stock levels through regular stock checks and rotation, ensuring products are stored correctly and traceability is maintained.
Working as part of the despatch team, you’ll follow standard operating procedures and ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently. You’ll maintain strict adherence to Health & Safety, food safety, and GMP standards while supporting departmental safety and quality compliance.
You’ll also play an important role in maintaining high standards across the warehouse, working collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily operational targets and maximise outputs.
To be successful in this role, you’ll be a reliable and hardworking team player who takes pride in doing the job properly. You’ll be comfortable working in a busy environment, able to follow processes carefully, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Ideally this is you!
• Experience working in a warehouse, despatch, or manufacturing environment (desirable)
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Strong work ethic with reliability and commitment
• Numerate with good attention to detail
• Food hygiene awareness (desirable)
• Manual handling experience (desirable)
• FLT or PPT licences (desirable but not essential)
• Pride in completing tasks to a high standard from start to finish
