We have an exciting opportunity for a People Partner to join our People Team based at our Hamilton site as part of ‘Finsbury Food Group’. 135 years of craft baking skills lie behind the quality of the special branded cakes, sweet snacks and slices we produce in Hamilton and 55 million products are produced each year. Lightbody’s is the UK’s largest supplier of celebration cakes to UK retailers, with Disney, Mars, Universal and Thorntons all within the portfolio of branded cakes made under licence. We also make a variety of supermarkets’ well-loved own-label cakes and in-store bakery bites.
To be successful in this role, you will currently be working in a similar position within a fast-paced environment. You will be skilled in developing meaningful relationships with leaders, partnering together to drive strategic people initiatives, enhance team performance, and foster an inclusive, high-engagement culture aligned with business goals.

This is what you’ll actually do!
You will build strong, trusted relationships with leaders to align people strategies with business goals. You will act as a proactive advisor across the employee lifecycle, supporting performance, development, and engagement, while providing guidance on employee relations, organisational design, and change initiatives. Using data and insight, you will identify trends and opportunities to improve team effectiveness and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture, ensuring that people practices are consistent, fair, and aligned with company values.
You will support the business across all aspects of HR, including best practice, employment legislation, employee relations, recruitment, manager coaching, employee engagement, and people-focused projects at both site and group level. Reporting to the Lead People Partner, you will work closely with the Site Leadership Team and operational functions to embed culture and values, enabling strong performance within a positive and motivating environment.
You will be confident and engaging, with the ability to influence and constructively challenge stakeholders to deliver the people agenda and drive continuous improvement. You will bring experience of managing employee relations casework, a solid understanding of UK employment law, and strong organisational skills to effectively manage priorities.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of people initiatives, work closely with stakeholders across the business, and make a genuine impact on both the employee experience and overall business performance.
Ideally this is you!
• CIPD qualified
• Proven HR generalist / people partnering experience, ideally in a medium/large unionised manufacturing environment
• Experience across key HR disciplines including:

• Strong ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
