We are recruiting a Site Services Technician to support the ongoing maintenance and reliability of our site infrastructure at Nicholas & Harris. This is a key role within the site, ensuring that building fabric, fixtures and fittings are maintained to a high standard to support safe, compliant and efficient production.
Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer. We constantly raise quality and efficiency standards, and build long-term relationships with major multiple retailers and the foodservice channel. Nicholas & Harris has over 180 years of heritage in craft baking methods. If you like artisanal, organic and speciality breads, or have special dietary preferences, our bakery in Salisbury has you covered!
Working as part of a small and collaborative team, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining the fabric of the site, responding to defects, and ensuring that essential services remain reliable. This role is critical in supporting operational performance, safety standards and compliance across the site.
This is what you’ll actually do!
As a Site Services Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing the building fabric, fixtures and fittings across the site, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and safely to minimise disruption to production.
You’ll respond to defects and proofing issues raised through the CMMS system, carrying out repairs in line with Health & Safety and Food Safety standards. This will include a wide range of practical tasks across multiple trade disciplines such as carpentry, plumbing, painting and general building repairs.
You’ll attend emergency repairs where required, taking a proactive and solution-focused approach to ensure issues are contained and resolved efficiently.
Working closely with external contractors and visitors, you’ll support the coordination of work on site, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and in line with company standards. You’ll also maintain control of company tools and equipment, ensuring they are used and stored appropriately.
Alongside reactive work, you’ll support the completion of planned tasks, including SHE-related activities and pest control (Rokill) actions, contributing to the overall compliance and performance of the site.
Your success in the role will be measured through key performance indicators such as work order completion, SHE and Rokill completion rates, and the consistent delivery of daily and weekly tasks.
Ideally this is you!
• Multi-skilled with experience across a range of trade disciplines (e.g. carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, painting)
• NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant trade (desirable)
• Basic IT skills, with experience of maintenance systems (CMMS advantageous)
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
• Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders
• Resilient and able to work under pressure when required
• A strong advocate for Health & Safety, leading by example
