Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen (get it?) to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a but a few.
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Production Scheduler
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain
REPORTS TO (JOB TITLE): Supply planning Manager / Senior Production Planner
DIVISION: Northern cluster
LOCATION: Fletchers Sheffield
Job Purpose
• To produce and publish production plans to meet customers’ needs while balancing operations best practice
Role Key Accountabilities
• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and company goals.
• Manage production planning to maximize output to available capacity.
• Determine, and amend if necessary, the running order of all production lines.
• Maintain finished goods inventory to achieve customer service levels of 98.5% or above, while minimizing write-offs due to short product life.
• Attend regular production review and short interval control meetings as required.
• Provide data and highlight concerns on a range of planning and production parameters such as yield or efficiency analysis.
• Consistently review sequencing of plans to reduce changeovers, meet out loading requirements, and balance labour and production resources.
• Work with Material Planners to arrange for delivery of additional materials into production departments as needed.
• Review and react to changes in customer priorities as required.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor production processes and adjust schedules to address any issues or delays.
• Analyse production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure alignment and resolve any scheduling conflicts.
• Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and work orders.
• Implement and uphold safety and quality standards in all scheduling activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Good knowledge of a supply chain environment
• Experience of production planning
• Key User in M3
• IT skills e.g. Excel, MRP systems (Optimity)
• Attention to detail, commitment to high standards.
• Be self-motivated with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
